Deal-finding platform · Web + iOS + Android · built & run by Byte Studio
Cardboard Deals.
Cardboard Deals watches the Magic: The Gathering market around the clock, spots cards listed below their true value, and surfaces them in one clean, fast feed – on the web and in native iOS and Android apps, complete with an AI card scanner that prices any card from a photo.
Anyone can claim they build software. We'd rather show you. Cardboard Deals is a product we designed, built and now operate ourselves – the whole stack, from the deal-discovery engine analysing thousands of new eBay listings every day, to the price-history models behind every alert, to the apps on both stores.
Under the hood it's the kind of engineering most agencies never touch: a real-time ingestion pipeline, machine-learning image recognition across a 500,000-card catalogue, subscription billing through Apple, Google and Stripe, push notifications, a Discord bot, and an SEO-first public site – all running in production, every day.
It matters for one simple reason: when we build for clients, we build like owners. Running our own product means we know first-hand what it takes to keep real software fast, secure and maintainable long after launch day.
Inside the product
What members get.
A live feed of below-market deals
The discovery engine watches eBay around the clock, reads every new Magic: The Gathering listing, matches it to the exact card and printing, and scores the asking price against real market data. Anything genuinely below market lands in the feed within minutes – on the web and in the apps.
Every card, priced and charted
Each of the 500,000+ cards in the catalogue gets its own page: live worth, price history, recent deals, actual eBay sales, and grading analysis that shows whether a raw card is worth slabbing. The same data powers the deal scoring, so the numbers users see are the numbers the engine trades on.
AI card scanner
Point the camera at any card and the app identifies it in seconds – machine-learning image recognition finds the card's outline, flattens the photo, and matches it against the full catalogue for an instant price.
Custom deal alerts, pushed instantly
Premium members set their own rules – a card, a set, a grade, a minimum discount – and get a push notification the moment a matching deal appears. The free Discord community gets a live broadcast feed and a price-checking bot.
Collection tracking
Members build their collection in the app and watch its value move day by day – every copy priced from the same live market data, with graded cards valued against their own grade band.
Built like a product company
Under the hood: a real-time ingestion pipeline, OpenSearch-backed search, subscription billing through Apple, Google and Stripe, push notifications, automated social posting, and an SEO-first public site – all engineered, deployed and operated by Byte Studio.
